Video Feed From Teacher Blinking in and out

While I am in a call it seems like I cannot move my mouse around on either the teams window or any other part of my screen without some sort of inconsistent blinking involved in the video feed of the camera as well as the shared screen. I couldn't find a place to change the graphics dependency, I couldn't find a place to change the video quality, I couldn't find any information that seems to be related or useful, but similar blinking hiccups happen while maneuvering other menus as well, seemingly like some sort of burn in but inconsistent with typical expectations.

    Dear Veronica,

Many thanks for the response and for providing all these details. It really helps in narrowing down the potential causes of the issue.

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem:

    1. May I know which Teams version you are using? For classic Teams, hardware acceleration used to cause display issues. In Teams, go to Settings > General and uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available".
    2. If you are using the new Teams, please try resetting the Teams app and check if the issue persists.
    3. Have you tried using Teams on the web to check if you get the same issue? This can help determine if the problem is specific to the desktop app.
    4. Uninstalling and reinstalling Teams can sometimes resolve persistent issues. Make sure to download the latest version from the official Microsoft website.
    5. Since you're using a wired mouse, try plugging it into a different USB port to see if that resolves the issue.

If these steps don't resolve the issue, it is likely due to another issue that needs further checking on the server backend, because our forum lacks relevant knowledge and permissions, so to better help you, please kindly try to create a service ticket in the Microsoft 365 admin center to support > service requests through navigation, as they have more access permissions than on this forum, and professional engineers will further help you.

Note: If you are not using admin account, please kindly ask your admin within your organization for help.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Let's work together to get this resolved!

    1. The blinking is not typically consistent though occasionally it does sync up with the recording timer in the meeting window. Though the rest of the “burn in” or artefacts are consistently present on all menus of the app.
    2. Wired mouse.
    3. To my knowledge I’m unaware of anything that might be interfering, granted I don’t know what kind of programs COULD interfere.
    4. Yes I’ve looked into the drivers and the updates and everything is up to date.
    5. No issues with the internet as we just got upgraded to even faster internet less than a month ago.
    6. Windows 11 and it’s a custom built model. When I tried to use the browser version I couldn’t even get the video up but that is because I’m unfamiliar with the browser version of the app and it was during a time when I was trying to fix it quickly as to not be disrupted during my class and didn’t do too much testing/logging in and out.

    Dear Veronica,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are happy to help you.

I understand that you're experiencing some frustrating issues with your video and screen sharing while on Teams calls. It sounds incredibly disruptive to have the video feed and shared screen blink inconsistently whenever you move your mouse. This can make it difficult to focus on the call and can be quite distracting.

To help me understand this better, could you tell me more about:

    1. When this blinking occurs, does it happen consistently throughout the call, or only at certain times?
    2. What type of mouse you are using, is it a wired or wireless mouse?
    3. Are there any other programs or applications running that might be interfering with Teams?
    4. Have you tried updating your graphics drivers or checking for any pending updates for Microsoft Teams?
    5. Are you experiencing any issues with your internet connection, such as slow speeds or frequent disconnections?
    6. What is the operating system and model of your computer? Have you tried using Teams on the web to check if the issue persists?

The more information you can provide, the better I can assist you in finding a solution. Please let me know and we can explore further options.

Please keep in mind that our initial reaction may not always resolve the issue right away. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
