Managing media playback issues and settings in Microsoft Edge on Windows 11
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
One of my laptops shows a Media Center button on Edge whenever I play media. It often interferes with casting video to my TV. My other laptop does not show this. Both are updated to the latest Windows 11 and Edge versions. I've tried setting the media flag to disabled, deleting my profile and even deleted the entire Edge\Users folder. Nothing seems to get rid of it.

Hi,
Are you referring to this media control popup from the toolbar (see the image below)?
As far as I know, this feature is in a controlled roll out. That explains why your other device does not show this feature. Since it is now being rolled out, the flag in the experimental page is no longer available to disable it. That said, the command-line parameter still works as I tested it. You can add --disable-features=GlobalMediaControls to the Target field of your Edge shortcut, similar to the example shown, then relaunch the browser. Make sure all Edge processes are fully closed in Task Manager before reopening it, so the change takes effect.
