I change the default value to disabled in "edge://flags/#local-network-access-check" and reconnect via restart, it returns to the default value. Is there a workaround?

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

The features that you are asking about is a flag. They are an experimental feature, so the flags showing there might be temporary and could be removed. Also, in Chromium (Edge's foundation), any flags could be removed after restart.

As I checked, the commands to control it is now obsolete and no longer work. However, you can use the allow list for it. The registry path for it is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\LocalNetworkAccessAllowedForUrls

Thank you for your answer. I checked it through the registry editor, and my registry path is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\URLAllowlist and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\URLWhitelist. Can you tell me in detail what I need to add or change here??

Hello DK_IT,

The key that we need to use is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\LocalNetworkAccessAllowedForUrls. If you cannot find any, you can create the key. Then, you will need to create a String (REG_SZ), set the named as numbers in ascending orders, and put the sites you want into the list.Just want to make sure, why do you need to disable local network access check? It is because of the prompt?

Thank you for your answer. The program we use requires access to the internal PC network, but it is not constantly accessible, so we found that if we change the Local Network Access Checks to Disabled, it can be connected. However, in certain PCs, it does not change even if it changes to Disabled, so we are looking for a solution. Even if you follow the method you gave us, the error still persists.

Hello DK_IT,

That seems like an issue from an enforced policy that it set on the affected computer alone. May I know what it says when those computers trying to connect to the internal network? Also, do they have anything in common?

It seems to be a problem because of the user's personalization. No message comes out and the program has to be downloaded and then run, but it only downloads and doesn't. This is a problem that is solved by changing the local network access check to disable. There is also nothing in common with computers.

Hello DK_IT,

I have just checked on my computer. That option remains disabled even after a restart of my computer. So it is hard to tell since I am unable to reproduce it. However, may I know if you have tried uninstalling Edge in the affected computers or try a new Edge profile?
