my speech to text doesn't load up and keeps circulating

Although it seemed to work initially, there seems to be a delay in what I am saying, and bits are missed. Then it does this weird highlighting of its own accord? This is the same for both my old and the new 32GB hard drive. I have various applications open, but the CPU use is now more than 10% but memory is 49%. please advise..

1. Press the Windows+R keys on the keyboard, or Right-click Start on the Taskbar and choose Run.

Type ncpa.cpl

Press Enter.

2. Right-click your device and select Properties.
3. Double click IPv4 options to open IPv4 properties.
4. Select the """"Use the following DNS servers"""" radio box, and enter the following in the addresses.

1.1.1.1

1.1.2.2

5. Click OK and OK again.

Restart your computer.

I am doing voice typing (windows key + H). This was happening on my old Surface 16GB laptop, so I bought a new one with 32GB, as the Geek Squad guy said my CPU usage was too high with Google Calendar and other open apps , but now the CPU use is @10% and its still spending hrs spinning and then misses sone disction or highlights and deletes words by itself

Try these steps in Windows 11 when speech/voice typing keeps spinning and never loads:

1. Confirm the correct microphone is selected:
   • Select Start > Settings > System > Sound.
   • Under Input, choose the device used for speaking or recording.
   • If using an external mic or headset, make sure it is properly connected.
2. Check microphone privacy access:
   • Select Start > Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone.
   • Make sure Microphone access is turned On.
3. If text does not appear after speaking (or it looks like it’s stuck loading):
   • In Settings > System > Sound, adjust the input level of the microphone so Windows can clearly detect audio.
   • If using a built‑in mic, try again with a headset or external microphone.

If the problem persists after these steps, test the mic using the Windows microphone setup and test tools to confirm it is working correctly, then try speech to text again.
