Importing my data back

Hey there readers,

I am not tech savvy enough to figure it out myself and searching up the problem has not led me anywhere.

I had exported my Microsoft Teams user data so I could edit the code a bit, but now that it has been edited I can't figure out how to import it back and rewrite some of the code.

Is anyone able to help me?

    Hi @Wyatt Ferguson

Could you clarify what type of data you exported (for example, chat history vs. an app/manifest package)?

Microsoft Teams does not support importing exported user data back into the service. When data such as chats or messages is exported, the files you receive (typically in JSON format) are intended for compliance, reference, or backup purposes. They cannot be modified and re-uploaded to update your account or restore messages into Teams.

While Teams provides tools and APIs for retrieving data, there is no supported method to overwrite or re-inject edited user data back into the service.

If your goal is to modify a Teams app or bot, that follows a different process. In that case, you can update the app package (for example, the manifest file) and then re-upload it using the Upload a custom app option in the Teams client or through the Teams admin center.

Please let me know if I’ve misunderstood your scenario.
