WHILE I was reading an email, it disappeared before my eyes, I followed all "suggestions" from Microsoft and it is NOT on my computer much less in email folders - I did not have "rule" issues, I checked everywhere and this is NOT the 1st time this has happened!

    Hi Clara Alexander

I understand how concerning it is when an email disappears while you’re actively reading it.

Thank you for confirming that you’ve already checked rules and followed Microsoft’s general suggestions.

To better narrow this down, could you please clarify:

    • Does the email completely disappear from all folders, or does it appear again after switching folders or refreshing?
    • Are you using a personal Outlook.com/ Hotmail account, or another type of account in Classic Outlook?

If you haven't tried this already, please check these next:

1, Start Outlook in safe mode

    • Close Classic Outlook app completely
    • Press Windows + R, type outlook.exe /safe > press Enter
    • Open the same folder and check if the issue still occurs
    • If it's stable in Safe Mode, disable add-ins (Go to File > Options > Add-ins > Manage: COM Add-ins > Go) and re-enable them one by one to find the culprit.

2, Check Outlook on the web

Please sign in to the same account at https://outlook.live.com and check whether the emails appear there:

    • Double-check all folders (Inbox, Junk Email, Deleted Items, Archive), ensure your inbox filter is set to All (not "Unread", "Flagged", etc.)
    • Check Focused / Other tab (if Focused Inbox is enabled), emails may land in Other. You can also temporarily turn Focused Inbox off to test.

For more details, you can see: Email is missing from your Outlook.com inbox - Microsoft Support

Please feel free to let me know how it goes so I can assist you further. I truly appreciate your time and understanding.
