Dear @BHinCM,
Thank you for reaching out regarding the “Draft” label you are seeing at the top of your email conversation in the New Outlook experience. I understand how this can cause confusion, especially when all visible emails have already been sent.
Please note that in the New Outlook, the “Draft” label is displayed at the conversation level when there is a draft message associated with that thread. This can occur even if all the emails shown in the conversation have been successfully sent. In many cases, Outlook may have automatically saved a draft reply in the background (for example, when composing an inline response), or a draft may still exist in the Drafts folder but is not immediately visible within the thread.
In this case, I kindly recommend the following steps, please try and check if it works:
Step 1: Check Drafts folder
- Go to Drafts
- Search by subject or recipient
- If found > delete it > thread label should disappear
Step 2: Open full conversation
- Open the thread fully (double-click)
- Look for: Message marked as Draft or an empty/partial reply
Step 3: Repair Outlook app
- Close Outlook and all Office apps.
- Open Setting > App > Installed apps
- Find Outlook for Window and right-click on it and select Advanced option.
- Choose Repair Option.
- Restart your computer after the repair is complete.
Step 4: Refresh or reopen the conversation to confirm if the “Draft” label has been removed.
Please be assured that this behavior does not indicate that your sent emails have failed. It simply reflects that a draft copy exists or was previously created for that conversation.
If the issue persists after removing any drafts, or if you notice unusual behavior, please feel free to contact me again. I will be happy to assist you further.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. I appreciate your continued trust. Hope you having a nice day and really much warm regards to you as well!
