Introduction

Completed

With planning and preparation in place, you can successfully deploy Windows 11 across your environment.

During the Plan phase, you assessed organizational readiness by defining success criteria, identifying risks, and creating key deliverables. In the Prepare phase, you validated readiness and addressed gaps using recommended tools, reports, and deliverables.

This module covers the Deploy phase—it outlines the tasks and deliverables required to deploy Windows 11 using a phased, or ring-based, approach, including pilot and broad deployments.

Keep in mind that deliverables should be in a format that’s easy to share and collaboratively edit throughout the life of the project. Also keep in mind that the size and complexity of your organization will influence your overall approach.

Important

Our recommended way forward is cloud-native, with devices Microsoft Entra ID-joined and managed through Microsoft Intune. Cloud-native management can simplify planning, preparation, deployment, and ongoing management of Windows 11 using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopatch. Many of these processes can also be adapted for hybrid or on-premises environments. Discover which option is right for your organization on Microsoft Learn.
