Annotations not visible to other meeting participants.

When I share my screen in Teams and select annotate, I can see what I draw on the screen, but other participants cannot. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the app and still run into the issue and clearing the cache. I am on Microsoft Teams version 25163.3611.3774.6315.

I have the same problem, none of the solutions offered by Microsoft or others works.

Ensure You're Using Screen Sharing, Not Window Sharing

Annotations only work when you're sharing your entire screen, not a specific window. If you select a window to share, the annotation tools may appear for you, but others won't see them.

Check for Collaborative Cursors

Collaborative cursors show participant names during annotation. If these are disabled, it might seem like others can't see your annotations. You can toggle this in the Whiteboard settings

To open the Settings menu, select Settings (gear icon) in the upper right.

After opening Settings, you can do the following:

Select Collaborative cursors to see the names of everyone who are collaborating on a whiteboard.

I double checked those settings and still was not able to get annotations to show up for the other person. This issue is affecting other users in my organization as well but have not been able to determine the cause. See the screenshot of what this issue looks like. Not that the annotations show on my view, but not the other user. However, the cursor still shows the red annotation circle for the other user.

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and negative experience this may have caused. At this point, the best course of action would be to contact Microsoft support directly. A support engineer can conduct a remote session to investigate the situation, verify the back-end configurations, and run the necessary synchronization tools to resolve the issue.

As forum moderators, we do not have access to the detailed logs or backend systems needed to fix this issue effectively due to privacy and security limitations. For that reason, the most efficient solution would be to contact Microsoft's support team directly.

We sincerely recommend you try to create a support ticket from Microsoft 365 Admin Center>Support>Help & Support.
