For the past two weeks the messages on my mobile device have not been loading and I am unable to send messages to groups. I have done all the tips given on the support page but none of them have worked.

    Hi @Emilie Paasch,

Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with this for the past couple of weeks. That’s understandably frustrating, especially when it affects your workflow on your mobile device.

To help narrow this down and determine whether this is a device‑specific issue, an app issue, or something tenant‑related, could you please share a bit more information?

    • What mobile device and OS version are you using (for example, iOS or Android, and the version)?
    • Does this happen on Wi‑Fi, mobile data, or both?
    • Are you able to send and receive messages in Teams on a desktop or web browser, or does the issue only occur on mobile?
    • Does the issue affect all chats and channels, or only specific group chats?
    • Do messages remain stuck on “Loading”, or do you see any error messages?
    • Have there been any recent changes, such as a password change, MFA update, device upgrade, or Teams app update?
    • Are other users in your organization experiencing the same issue?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

This information will help identify the most effective next steps. Once you share a few of these details, I’ll be happy to guide you further. Thank you for your patience, and I look forward to your reply.

Try the following targeted steps for Teams messages not loading on a mobile device, especially since basic tips were already tried:

    1. Verify general connectivity and sign-in
      • Confirm the device has a working internet connection by opening a browser and visiting any website.
      • In Teams mobile, tap the profile picture → Sign out. Fully close the app, reopen it, and sign in again with the work or school account.
    2. Test if the issue is account- or device-specific
      • From a browser on the same device, go to the web version of Teams: https://teams.microsoft.com/ and sign in.
      • If chats load and messages send in the web version but not in the mobile app, the problem is likely with the mobile client rather than the account or service.
    3. Fully restart Teams and the device
      • Force close Teams on the mobile device (swipe it away from recent apps).
      • Restart the phone, then open Teams again and check if chats load.
    4. Reinstall Teams cleanly on the mobile device
      • Uninstall the Teams app from the phone.
      • Restart the phone.
      • Reinstall Teams from the official app store.
      • Open Teams, sign in, and test loading chats and sending to groups.
    5. If using Android and other Microsoft apps also misbehave
      • If Outlook or other Microsoft apps on the same Android device also fail to load content, follow the pattern from similar issues:
        • Uninstall the affected Microsoft apps (for example, Outlook and Teams).
        • Restart the phone.
        • Reinstall the apps and sign in again.
    6. If the problem persists across devices
      • If chats also fail to load in the Teams web client or on a desktop, this indicates a service or account issue rather than the mobile app. In that case, contact the organization’s IT admin so they can check Microsoft 365 service health and open a support ticket with Microsoft if needed.
