Issues with both messaging and with logging into Teams on Android.

Recently I've been having occasional issues with sending messages on the Microsoft Teams app on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra phone. I can receive them just fine, but sometimes I can't send them. My usual solution is to uninstall and reinstall the app.

This same problem occurred this morning, so I tried to uninstall and reinstall it. However, now I have a different problem.....

I can't log in.

When I open the app, it gives me the option to type in my log in information. I actually have that info saved in Google, so I use the autofill information. Then, I tap "next" to go to the next screen, and it just keeps loading. All I see is a white screen with a loading symbol circling round and round.

This absolutely MUST be fixed ASAP. I use this app for my work.

    Dear @Alan Bingham,

Good day, and I appreciate the detailed explanation of your concern. As a forum moderator, I genuinely wish I could directly access your account or delve into the backend systems to diagnose and fix this for you. However, our role here is limited to providing general guidance and solutions that can be applied by users. From my research, this problem is very common right now on the S25 Ultra after the April 2026 Samsung security patch. It affects Teams, Outlook, Authenticator, and other Microsoft 365 apps for many users.

Note: The exact menu names or locations may vary slightly depending on your Android and UI version.

Please follow these steps to see if it helps:

    1.Update Android System WebView

In many cases, the root cause is a conflict involving Android System WebView after the Samsung update. Please refer to the guidance provided by the Q&A Assist and ensure WebView is fully up to date, then restart your device.

    2.Clear Teams data

    1. Go to Settings > Apps > Teams.
    2. Tap Storage > Clear cache > then Clear data / Clear storage.
    3. Force stop the app.
    4. Restart your phone, then open Teams and try signing in.

    3.Switch network during login

Several users report the login gets stuck on Wi-Fi but works on mobile data:

    • Turn Wi-Fi off and use mobile data (4G/5G).
    • Try signing into Teams.
    • Once logged in, you can turn Wi-Fi back on.

4.Full clean reinstall (after the WebView fix)

    • Uninstall Teams.
    • Restart phone.
    • Install Teams again from the Play Store.
    • Sign in using mobile data first.

As a temporary workaround, you can try using Teams in a browser if you need to communicate urgently. Open Chrome and go to teams.microsoft.com. Then select the three dots in the top‑right corner of the browser and choose Open in desktop mode.

This may help in urgent situations; however, please note that Microsoft Teams is not officially supported in mobile browsers, and this is not a supported experience.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this. Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments so I can continue to support you. I'm looking forward to your reply.

For Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra devices, recent issues with Outlook and Teams not loading or signing in are caused by an Android System WebView regression from the Samsung April 2026 security update. This matches the symptoms described: apps stuck on a white/loading screen and sign‑in not completing.

To fix this on the phone:

    1. Open Settings.
    2. Search for "Android System WebView".
    3. Select App details in store.
    4. Choose Remove updates for Android System WebView.
    5. Reboot the phone.
    6. Go back to Settings → search "Android System WebView"App details in storeUpdate to install the latest version.
    7. Reboot again.
    8. Launch Teams and sign in.

If Android System WebView does not appear in the normal app list:

    1. Go to SettingsGoogleAll servicesSystem services.
    2. Select Android System WebView there.
    3. Then follow the same Remove updates → Reboot → Update → Reboot sequence.
    4. Open Teams and sign in again.

If the issue persists after fixing WebView, completely uninstalling and reinstalling Teams once more (after the WebView repair) can help clear any remaining corrupted state.
